Job Purpose:

Provides day-to-day QHSSE advice and active assistance within a Business Unit, department, vessel, and/or project by ensuring that good standards and practices are identified, developed, implemented, and adhered to. Office, vessel or project-based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of all Health, Safety, Security, Fire prevention, and Environmental (SSE) programs and processes.

  • Ensures compliance with HSSE regulatory requirements, and Fugro’s policies and continuous improvement in key identified measures and objectives.

  • Ensure implementation of Integrated Management System (IMS – 9k, 14k, 45k) in both Land and Marine BU.

  • Plan Health programs (Mental and physical) along with India HR team.

  • Be instrumental in aligning different BU’s and driving the ONE FUGRO approach for HSSE.

  • Enforce Safe Work Practices at the sites and create a positive safety culture.

  • Plan QHSSE campaigns for India and roll out the various initiatives effectively. Drive the implementation of Fugro’s HSSE programs.

  • Draft HSSE procedures and guidelines, templates as and when required.

  • Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents.

  • Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual QHSSE meetings with different stakeholders.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for India QHSSE.

  • To ensure subcontractors comply with the requirements of the Safety Management System, which outlines their responsibilities and commitments.

  • Submit a Weekly and Monthly HSSE Report and Statistics to Country QHSSE Manager.

  • Report QHSSE and Sustainability statistics on a monthly basis to the Regional team.

  • Carry out and assist in HSSE inspections and audits at all project sites, office locations, accommodations, vessels, Kitchen and vehicle inspection.

  • Ensure proper HSSE documentation and implementation.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure crew accommodation, site vehicles, site related travels are all in compliance with Fugro’s standards.

  • Support India QHSSE team and perform any other relevant task assigned by the Country QHSSE Manager.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • B. Tech in Safety, Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, Master's in Environmental Science, M. Tech in Safety.

  • Minimum 6 years of Experience.

  • First-aid/IOSH/BOSIET/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.

HSE Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of self and others at the site. Prevent damage to equipment and assets. Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices. Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s. Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever a hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his workplace. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe. To be able to operate a fire extinguisher in case of fire. To report an incident as soon as possible to the immediate supervisor and the HSE manager. To complete HSE training as instructed to do so.
