Are you an experienced compliance and ethics professional looking for a global role where you can make a real impact? For our Head Office in Nootdorp we are looking for a Senior Compliance Counsel. At Fugro, doing the right thing is part of how we operate. Our Global Compliance team works across regions (APAC. Europe and Africa and Middles East & India) and covers ethcs and business integirty topics including the Code of Conduct, Speak Up, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-fraud , gifts & entertainment, conflicts of interest and internal investigations.
We operate in a dynamic, international environment and continuously strengthen and mature the global ethics and compliance programme. The team works closely with regional legal, HR and business teams worldwide, combining clear standards with a practical, down-to-earth approach that fits the way Fugro works.
Your role
Strengthen and further develop key elements of Fugro’s global ethics and compliance programme, with a strong focus on the Code of Conduct and Speak Up framework.
Oversee and enhance processes for receiving, assessing, and managing Speak Up reports globally, ensuring trust, accessibility, confidentiality and consistency across regions.
Lead and support sensitive internal investigations relating to ethics, misconduct, fraud or compliance breaches, ensuring fairness, independence and alignment with global standards.
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and functional teams on ethics, integrity and compliance matters, translating complex requirements into practical guidance.
Collaborate closely with HR, Legal, Internal Audit and operational teams to embed a culture of integrity and transparency throughout the organisation.
Oversee and advise on gifts & entertainment, conflicts of interest, and related transparency processes
Contribute to the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of global policies, training, communications and controls.
Monitor emerging ethics and compliance risks and regulatory developments, translating them intoclear business-focussed actions.

What you bring along
A strong background as a compliance or legal professional, with 8+ years of relevant experience in an international environment.
Proven, hands-on experience with , Speak Up frameworks, and internal investigations, including handling sensitive matters across cultures and jurisdictions.
Solid expertise in ethics and business integrity topics, including anti-bribery and corruption, anti-fraud, conflicts of interest, and Code of Conduct implementation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and with a diverse set of nationalities, operating comfortably in a matrixed global organisation.
A balanced understanding of both the technical and the human dimensions of compliance, particularly in encouraging speaking upand ensuring fair, respectful investigative processes.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate with clarity and empathy, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive, structured, and culturally aware approach, with the confidence to operate independently, combined with a collaborative mindset.
