Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analytics & Engineering Specialist to join our team at Fugro. This hybrid role combines advanced data analysis with robust data engineering capabilities. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining data pipelines, interpreting and analyzing structured and semi-structured data, and generating actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions.
You will play a key role in building scalable data solutions, applying statistical and machine learning techniques, and collaborating with stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Architecture
Design, develop, and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting and transforming large datasets.
Optimize data storage and retrieval in cloud or on-prem environments
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all systems.
Advanced Analytics
Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques to uncover trends, correlations, and business opportunities.
Perform hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and develop forecasting models.
Visualization & Reporting
Build interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Present complex insights in a clear, actionable format for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Provide training and mentorship on data tools and best practices.
Quality & Process Improvement
Monitor and improve data quality, implementing automation and process enhancements.
Identify opportunities for workflow optimization and data-driven decision-making.
Experience & Knowledge
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in data analytics and engineering roles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or R for data manipulation and analysis.
Experience with data pipeline frameworks and cloud platforms
Visualization Tools: Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Statistical Tools: Knowledge of statistical packages and libraries.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Project Management: Ability to manage data projects end-to-end.
Preferred Certifications
Advanced certifications in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or Cloud Platforms.
ITIL or ITSM certifications are a plus.
Languages
English: Fluent.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide training and support to team members on data tools and techniques.
Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

HSE Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the safety of self and others at the site. Prevent damage to equipment and assets. Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices. Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever a hazard has been noticed at the site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his workplace. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe. To be able to operate a fire extinguisher in case of fire. To report an incident as soon as possible to the immediate supervisor and HSE manager. To complete HSE training as instructed to do so.
