Job Summary:
The HSSE & Q Advisor 1 implements the company’s HSSE and/or Quality functional activities across multiple projects or locations. This job profile facilitates compliant and effective implementation of the company's QHSSE policies, systems, programs and practices while ensuring alignment with local legislation, customer requirements, and operational needs. The Advisor also provides advanced technical advice and independent support to operational teams while identifying opportunities for continuous QHSSE improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Activities
Implement the company’s QHSSE systems, practices, programs and practices across multiple projects or locations, ensuring alignment with local legislation, customer requirements, and operational needs.
Plan, conduct, and document work requiring independent evaluation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Conduct regular inspections and audits, while exploring gaps and providing recommendation on preventive or corrective actions, following up till close out of these actions.
Update or develop local procedures as needed (e.g Project PEP Documents: HSE Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Quality Plan etc)
Collaborates with operational teams to facilitate pre-project risk assessments (HIRA/HAZID and TRAs) and , Emergency Response Plans.
Provides advanced recommendations on effective prevention and mitigation controls while ensuring controls are in place and verified before work begins.
Validate that all HSSE requirements such as training, PPE, medical support, and field readiness are fully established and functioning as intended.
Provide guidance and support on permit preparation, local management of change and dynamic risk assessments processes, as needed.
Maintain local emergency and crisis plans while supporting responses when these plans are activated.
Promotes a culture of care, proactive risk management, and continuous improvement by building strong relationships with operational management and teams.
Provide mentoring and training - including certification programs - to operational staff, QHSSE colleagues, and contractors, as needed, enabling them to fulfill their QHSSE responsibilities effectively.
Maintain open communication with clients to address QHSSE matters and ensure satisfaction.
Conduct site visits to learn from operational teams and address concerns, challenges and areas for improvement while keeping all relevant stakeholders informed and involved whenever standards or working methods change.
Monitor objectives and associated targets in line with the QHSSE policy statements.
Provide guidance and support on HSSE-related inquiries and concerns from operational teams.
Report on QHSSE metrics relevant to assigned projects or locations. Use data and feedback to identify strengths, gaps, and areas where support is needed. Collaborate with operational teams to address improvement opportunities.
Attendance as required at external audits, delivering evidence of implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions within required timescales.
Actively involved in Auditing (both Quality and HSSE) of all departments, keeping of records, recording all Management of Change, Investigation and reporting on Non-conformances, to finality.
Determine, collect and analyse appropriate data to demonstrate the continuing suitability and effectiveness of the IMS, reporting results to the QHSSE Manager to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and the need for change.
Ensuring that there are systems in place and implemented to continuously improve the effectiveness of the IMS.
Shall assist with compiling data for the annual Management Review
What Skills & Experience Will You Have?
University Degree of BSc or higher in allied field a great advantage.
Mandatory NEBOSH IGC as a minimum
Mandatory IOSH Managing Safely
5-8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years as QHSSE Supervisor or higher
Marine/Oil&Gas experience highly preferred.
Recognized Internal / Lead Auditor qualification.
The applicant will ideally have had Lead Auditor training and some experience with ISO9001, 14001, and 45001
High levels of initiative and ability to work both independently, and to interact and contribute positively with others as part of a team.
