Reflecting its continued success in raising safety standards, Fugro GEOS Ltd. has won a Gold award in this year’s RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has been at the heart of accident prevention in the UK and around the world for nearly a century.

Its annual awards scheme recognises commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Dating back fifty-eight years, it is the largest, longest-running and most highly respected programme of its kind in the UK.

The scheme is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes worldwide and has become the most sought after occupational safety accolade by organisations across all sectors. Entrants are judged not only on their accident record, but also on their overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Martin Denton, Fugro GEOS  HSEQ Manager, said: “Having introduced a number of important health and safety initiatives that have made a real contribution to strengthening our safety culture, we are delighted to have won our first RoSPA Gold award.

“This achievement recognises our long-standing commitment to the continuous improvement of health and safety standards across Fugro GEOS and benchmarks us alongside the best organisations in the world.”

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Fugro GEOS Ltd., contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.”
