As a world centre for ocean and earth science qualifications, the NOC is holding the careers event to help students network with alumni and potential employers. Discussing how an oceanography degree helped her career, Elaine Dickins, oceanographer with Fugro GEOS is one of the oceanography and marine biology alumni panellists. Elaine graduated in 2011 with an MSc in Oceanography; she will be sharing information about her role as an oceanographer and highlighting the wide variety of career paths available to graduates.
Fugro GEOS is the world's foremost provider of commercial meteorological and oceanographic services, undertaking measurement, monitoring and forecasting of metocean parameters. Through a range of education and placement programmes the company encourages undergraduates in this sector and actively contributes to the sustainability of the marine science community. The company will be exhibiting on stand 27 where further information will be available.
Other Fugro companies joining Fugro GEOS at the careers day are Fugro EMU and Fugro GeoConsulting. As a panellist with the geology and geophysics alumni, Chris Smith will discuss his career as an Engineering Geologist with Fugro GeoConsulting.
