Fugro is part of two teams that have been awarded contracts with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). The total contract value for both contracts over five years is USD 120
million. Fugro's share is approximately USD 35 million.
This new phase of levee evaluations follows the evaluations Fugro is currently performing on the 350 miles of urban levees in the highly populated areas of greater Sacramento, Stockton/Lathrop, and Marysville/Yuba City. The ''non urban'' levee contracts will include exploration, testing, and analysis on levees that protect smaller
communities and rural areas
Fugro's geotechnical services will include collecting subsurface data through borings and CPTs, laboratory testing, performing engineering analyses (slope stability, settlement, seepage and seismic), and preparing the Geotechnical Evaluation Reports. Fugro also will use its FLI-MAP lidar corridor mapping system, Airborne Electromagnetic (EM) Geophysical surveys, and hydrographical surveys to assist in the evaluations.
Fugro's long-standing experience and involvement in past and recent flood protection works and innovative approaches to collect, manage, integrate, and utilize a broad range of important data, have contributed to its participation in this program
