Mark Heine, a senior executive with Fugro, has been appointed to the board of The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA).
A strong supporter of the Association for many years, Mr Heine is a member of the Management Board of Fugro and is the Director of the Marine Division. He has been with Fugro since 2000, and has served, amongst other roles as Director of Marine, Survey & Geotech, and Regional Manager Europe-Africa for the Survey Division. He holds an MSc in Geodetic Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
“IMCA represents approximately one thousand companies within the marine contracting industry globally, acting as a voice of authority with a wide variety of regulators, client organisations and bodies within the industry,” explains Mark Heine.” I am pleased to be able to contribute to IMCA at board level in setting the future agenda of this important and influential organisation, especially in these changing times for the oil and gas and offshore renewable energy sectors.”
We are delighted to have Mark join the board and to contribute his expertise to the performance and strategy of the association.
“The establishment of the new IMCA board structure was a result of an 18-month long governance programme, which the membership overwhelmingly endorsed in late 2016,” explains Allen Leatt, Chief Executive of IMCA. “We are delighted to have Mark join the board and to contribute his expertise to the performance and strategy of the association.”
IMCA was founded in 1995 through the merger of the Association of Offshore Diving Contractors (AODC) and the Dynamically Positioned Vessel Owners Association (DPVOA). The association was formed by the leading contractors of the day which have today grown into the globally successful contractors represented by Technip, Saipem, Subsea 7, McDermott, Allseas, and Heerema.
Under their leadership IMCA has become the global authority within the marine contracting industry. The recently extended governing board includes international contractors, with Fugro’s Mark Heine nominated from this important cadre of members
