Job Description

Fugro (USA) Holdings, Inc. seeks an International Legal Consultant to work in Houston, Texas to serve as the legal specialist and services manager with broad-ranged responsibility for the management of the legal affairs for Fugro's Marine division.

Job Duties: Serve as the legal specialist and services manager with broad-ranged responsibility for the management of the legal affairs for Fugro's Marine Division located within Americas, which includes United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Colombia. Collaborate with the Regional Head of Legal to identify risk and advise Fugro company management accordingly. Provide analysis and counsel on legal issues, which include commercial contracts, marine master services agreements, corporate governance, protecting intellectual property, compliances issues, employment law and claims, non-disclosure agreements, and business strategic planning, which includes evaluation of launching business in new jurisdictions. Provide legal advice on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits. Anticipate and guard against legal risk facing the company. Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues. Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues. draft, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, and other documents. Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements. Implement Fugro's strategic vision with respect to compliance issues, which include international sanctions, export controls, and antibribery/anti-corruption initiatives.

Minimum requirements: bachelor's degree in law or legal studies plus 10 years of legal experience as a corporate counsel or legal advisor within a multinational corporation working in the energy or maritime industries in Latin America.

Special requirements: have valid/be eligible for foreign legal counsel designation from the State Bar of Texas
