The Second Cook/Baker is responsible for the timely preparation and production of high-quality, nutritious meals and all bakery related items, for crew and embarked personnel. As well as cleanliness and maintenance of the galley and associated assigned steward areas, and in the efficient and sanitary operation of the galley.
Take care of the food processing, catering, and domestic services in accordance with the required standards of both the client/company.
Take care of all food and domestic appliances and supplies including entrance control and storage.
Perform administration duties as instructed by the Master with regard to Cook operations.
Ensures the excellent state, maintenance, and hygienic conditions of the living accommodations, galley, storerooms,and domestic appliances.
Serve meals and consumptions.
Maintain the living accommodations.
Obligated to execute the safety- and environmental policy on board.
Comply with international legislation, flag state requirements, accepted industry standards, Company decrees and contracts.
To perform assigned administration duties.
Ensure the excellent state, maintenance and hygienic conditions of the living accommodations, galley, storerooms, and domestic appliances.
Order food and cleaning articles.
The environmentally correct processing of waste products.
18 years of age.
Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
High School Diploma graduate or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in commercial or institutional food preparation.
Has a good command of the working language of the vessel, verbally and in writing.
Competent, at management level, to undertake the tasks, duties, and responsibilities as Second Cook.
Knowledge of order and hygiene.
Experience on Fugro Vessels is a plus.
The following valid certificates are a minimum requirement for this position:
Certificate of Competence for the vessel.
Flag state certificate.
Flag state Seaman’s Book.
Flag state Medical certificate.
Basic training certificate.
Proficiency In Survival Craft And Fast Rescue Boats Certificate.
Ship's cook Certificate.
