Job Description
For our Nootdorp office we are looking for an experienced Java developer who is ready to join our Topaz team.

In this role, you contribute to the development of a desktop application used by geotechnical engineers. Apart from delivering technical solutions, we expect you to propose new features and improvements. You are our ideal candidate if you have outstanding coding skills and the ambition to grow and learn more.

Your role
You design and implement technical solutions according to the specifications defined in user stories;
You propose new (technical) features and improvements to the application;
You review code changes from other developers;
You participate in testing of cards implemented by others;
You work in all parts of the application: backend, frontend, infra using the following tech stack:
Apache Tomcat application server
Microsoft SQL DB
AWS Cloud: RDS, EC2, S3
Eclipse RCP
GitHub
Your track record
You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/engineering;
You have 5+ years of experience as a fullstack software developer in the Java ecosystem;
You show good knowledge of Java, understanding of Java versions and the differences between them;
You have experience with large enterprise applications, understanding Java modules & Maven build tools;
You have knowledge of Java frameworks and technologies: Hibernate, Spring, Aspect oriented programming, ActiveMQ;
Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases;
Understanding Cloud (preferably AWS Cloud);
Understanding Agile and working in a Scrum team;
You have a polyglot mindset: knowledge of other programming languages (preferably Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and C#);
You are open to work in a business as complex as Geotechnics and learn the business domain;
It is considered a plus if you have experience with building desktop applications in Java, namely using Eclipse RCP.
