Are you ready to steer your career in a dynamic and impactful direction? Fugro is seeking a Regional Fleet Manager to lead our Geotechnical fleet management organization in Europe and Africa. This is your chance to ensure our vessels are always operational and ready for exciting projects!
As a Regional Fleet Manager you manage the fleet management organization of Fugro in Europe and Africa for our geotechnical and geophysical vessels, according to global standards and regional requirements. In this role you ensure reliable vessels with required availability provided at all times, as such that operational time is maximized when vessels are assigned to a project.
Your role
You guide and support vessel management teams, ensuring they have the resources needed to excel;
You coordinate the daily running of the fleet management activities in the region and you actively manage, direct and support Vessel Managers, Technical Superintendents, Marine Assurance Officers and Purchasers;
You are responsible for leading the Vessel Managers in their daily activities and make sure that they have the correct resources and work according Fugro operational excellence standards and in compliance with relevant external and internal legislative and regulatory requirements;
You will be a member of the Europe/Africa Marine Site Characterization management team and translate project and vessel requirements into tangible actions;
You will promote seamless cooperation between the Project and Fleet organization, both in the offices as on our vessels;
You explore health and safety initiatives, ensuring a safe working environment for all crew members;
You maintain relationships with clients regionally, you define and negotiate technical and QHSSE content of vessel management contracts and fees;
You monitor projected cost for the operational and capital expenditure of managed vessels and aim for in-time intervention when necessary;
You provide coaching, training and developmental opportunities to colleagues when required and motivate and manage performance and contribution.
Your track record
You have a Bachelor degree in a maritime related discipline and previous experience as e.g. Asset Manager or Vessel/Technical Superintendent;
You have proven experience in fleet management and a commitment to safety;
You have 8+ years working experience both Offshore and Onshore and previous management experience;
You have a strong client awareness, know how to build strong relationships and are experienced with supporting both internal and external clients;
You have a passion for success, you strive for operational excellence and actively focus on achieving sustainable results;
You take ownership and initiative, acting with confidence, with the ability to make prompt and clear decisions, which may involve tough choices or considered risk;
You have excellent communication and reporting skills in English (verbal and written).
