Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently.

We’ve created a new service line utilising exciting new technology that is designed to reduce our carbon footprint and work sustainably. Our Uncrewed Service Vessel (USV) operators and pilots will work predominantly from our new remote operations centre and our ROV & USV Pilot Technicians will predominantly work on site supporting the technical uptime of the Vessel, ROV and survey equipment.

The Role

We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region.

You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding.  Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.

Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.

What does a Remote and Uncrewed career offer:

We offer a unique opportunity to cross train and enhance your skillsets. You will be working on hugely exciting and diverse projects as well as being one of the first ROV/USV Pilot Techs to utilise this quickly emerging remote and uncrewed technology.

You will work in a stable working environment onshore, be at the forefront of the way the industry is transitioning and gain extensive career and training opportunities both on a national and global level.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience of working as a ROV Pilot Tech, Survey Engineer, or Marine Engineer.

  • Comprehensive understanding of survey equipment as well as project mobilisations and operating planned maintenance systems.

  • Ability to work shift patterns up to 4 weeks in length.

Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.

  • Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.

  • Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme

  • Option to lease an electric car.
