Job Description

As a Remote Operations Centre Data Processor will be responsible for performing data processing activities on hydrographic survey datasets from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), providing data processing support to operations within the region, and utilising innovative and industry leading technology and protocols.

The ROC Data Processor will actively support the continuous improvement of remote operations, identifying opportunities, developing workflows, testing, and creating documentation to be incorporated into the body of knowledge.

  • Supports the acquisition of survey data such as navigation or multibeam from a variety of survey platforms;

  • Collates, processes and presents data, ensuring suitability for charting and reporting purposes and in compliance with scope of work;

  • Generates survey data products compatible with GIS software;

  • Constructs survey charts compliant with charting standards.

  • Maintains effective and appropriate communication with client representatives, Project Manager, and other onshore and offshore departments e.g., Data Services, Subject Matter Experts, Innovation, Staff Development Coordinators, Human Resources, IT, and QHSSE.

  • Develops and maintains clear and concise documentation;

  • Prepares and ensures quality control of data.

Reporting directly to the Remote Operations Centre Manager the role will liaise with supervisory personnel in the ROC, MAI Client Deliverables and work with other ROC staff, Offshore staff, Project Managers, Clients, Project Teams and third-party suppliers to oversee effective and efficient completion of project work scopes. Additionally, they will be expected to collaborate with other Remote Operations Centres, Innovation teams and key suppliers globally when required.

You must:

  • Have a B.Sc or M.Sc or equivalent in a relevant survey related discipline;

  • Have a good understanding of survey and processing principles;

  • Be an excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels;

  • Be able to prioritise workload to meet project deadlines;

  • Pay attention to detail, quality and safety;

  • Be disciplined, self-motivated and flexible team player.
