The role
Fugro are recruiting Survey Technicians to join our world-leading Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) team based at our Remote Operations Centre in Aberdeen, UK. As a Survey Technician working in the USV team, you will predominately be responsible for setting up and maintaining our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROV), installed vessel survey equipment and the USV vehicle itself within the European and African region.
You will travel to project sites for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and assist with the servicing of the vessel ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables and applicable regulations.
Who we’re looking for:
You will work in a range of markets including offshore wind, pipeline and platform inspection, geophysical site surveys and nautical charting. The role will combine time predominantly on the project site but also in our Remote Operations Centre and Workshop in Aberdeen. You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations and equipment maintenance. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.

Key Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with Fugro standard operating procedures and project-specific procedures.
Setup, testing, maintenance and operation of the eROV, survey sensors and vessel systems.
Facilitate port call activities such as berthing, re fueling and planned maintenance.
Fault finding and fault reporting of the equipment and vessel spread.
Highlight non-conformances to the attention of the USV Asset Engineer.
Maintain and coordinate the planned maintenance system.
As a senior take management lead on site providing direction, training, and mentorship to junior colleagues.
Ensure effective safety management and communications via toolbox talks, risk assessment and safety briefings.
Manage the operational integrity of the USV spread whilst on project to provide best operational uptime.
