Key Accountabilities:
Assist Supervisor in the smooth operation/maintenance of the Remotely Operate Vehicle systems both on and offshore:
To be safety aware, eg awareness of legislation/guidance, reporting accidents, awareness of company safety management system and own role/responsibility Knowledge of emergency procedures and handling emergency situations Knowledge of the ROV team members’ roles and responsibilities. Works as part of a team, assists others and communicates well with team members. Assists the supervision of launch and recovery operations. Fault finding and maintenance of ROV control and navigational systems. Carry out ROV system and complete planned maintenance schedules Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues. To be capable in navigating ROV to work site when supervisor not present and perform all general manipulator duties To understand use of sonar, changes in range/scales, use of acoustic positioning systems used by ROV’s Can identify and change major hydraulic, electronic and electrical components and perform electrical and mechanical umbilical terminations with minimum supervision Capable of undertaking trade specialist tasks Maintain and upkeep of inventory of the system. Raise requisition for spares/consumables in a timely manner Ability to co-ordinate dive records – video, audio and written
HSE Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so
Principal Working Relationships:
Liaison with ROV Superintendent /Supervisor when offshore or ROV Base Manager / Project Manager onshore regarding project preparation and execution
Qualifications required:
Graduate or Diploma in Engineering or Equivalent course or Indian Navy
Skills / experience required to do the job:
Proven skills in Mechanics, Hydraulics, Electrics and Electronics In excess of two years operational experience with Electro-hydraulic ROV’s Thorough understanding of underwater operations and equipment Ability to communicate at all levels Fluent in the English language
