Job Description

Electronics Technician Maintain, test, repair, and install electronic equipment and associated components using product specifications and standard diagnostic procedures. Equipment includes office-assisted remote services systems, acoustic navigation systems, surface navigation systems (DGPS), and computer systems with peripherals and associated software.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health and Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance of field equipment in accordance with existing maintenance procedures.

  • Install, test, and support standard PC images and related software.

  • Train users on hardware and software usage when appropriate.

  • Communicate with other departments/divisions/service lines to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems.

  • Repair field equipment, according to repair procedures, to chip level where possible.

  • Troubleshoot problems on-site, in the field, or via phone.

  • Serve as technical liaison with project managers, field crews, clients, and other offices during a project from mobilization to demobilization.

Job Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record; must have or be able to obtain a valid passport, TWIC, PEC safety, and water survival certifications.

  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and one to three years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (including military); experience in electronic repair, including PC diagnostics software and tools and understanding interface protocols is preferred.

  • This position requires working at a dock or offshore and away from home base overnight, up to 60 days per year; foreign assignments are also possible.
