Job Description

As a Senior Group Reporting Specialist you are the expert in our consolidation and reporting process. You combine accounting and reporting knowledge with a sound understanding of financial processes and reporting IT systems. You demonstrate unquestionable integrity and professionalism and value the fun factor in work.

Based in our headquarters at Leidschendam, you play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting.

You interact with the various topic experts within Group Control, Internal Audit, Corporate Finance, Finance Shared Service Centres, Treasury and Tax, as well as with controllers within the business units and other business- or group level stakeholders.

Your role

  • You take part in the consolidation and reporting of all Fugro financial entities and produce IFRS compliant information for external reporting of Fugro Group.

  • You ensure the timely execution of the consolidation procedures and financial reporting;

  • Analyse financial figures, coordinate reporting processes, identify data irregularities or data quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken in order to maintain the integrity of financial data.

  • You take responsibility for the CCH Tagetik change management process to ensure compliance with financial standards and the development of the group finance strategy;

  • Drive continuous improvements in our reporting and consolidation process including our consolidation tool (CCH Tagetik);

  • You participate in in-depth topic reviews and ad-hoc projects;

  • You focus on becoming the team expert for CCH Tagetik;

  • You continuously learn, improve and develop new skills.

What you bring along

  • You have a master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Intelligence preferably supplemented with RA, CA or ACCA;

  • You have 5+ years of experience working in a similar role either in-house or in an audit / consultancy role.

  • You have experience with a CPM system/consolidation application, ideally Tagetik, or any other CPM system;

  • Sound knowledge of, and demonstrable experience with applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);

  • You have experience in working in a complex, demanding international organisation, with tight deadlines and you feel comfortable with working with various stakeholders across the globe;

  • You have extensive Excel knowledge and the drive to learn new data driven systems and applications. Experience with Microsoft Power BI is a plus;

  • You are enthusiastic to learn new technical skills;

  • You take ownership, self-starter with a critical mindset;

  • You are fluent in English both written and spoken.

About the department

As a Senior Group Reporting Specialist, you will be in the Group Reporting team which is part of Group Control. The team is working closely with senior finance professionals and you will have the chance to further develop reporting and controlling skills, as well as become a subject matter expert on consolidation and financial reporting.

Finance at Fugro group level covers the full scope of Finance activities: Insurance, Fiscal, Treasury and Group Control.

Group Control is, amongst others, responsible for external & management reporting, internal controls, tax provisioning and consolidation systems. The main objectives of the Group Reporting team are to:

  • Ensure soundness and integrity of the financial data and the reporting quality & consistency across the Group;

  • Perform consolidation and maintain the consolidation system;

  • Create and maintain management reports;

  • Support accountants and controllers during the monthly close and management reporting.
