Job Description
The Fugro Innovation Center focuses on the development of cloud-hosted, web-based, and automated feature detection and mapping software for both land and offshore survey utilizing cutting-edge development platforms. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is passionate about learning software engineering best practices. Candidate must be a self-motivated, independent thinker; comfortable working in a group setting within a team.
Candidate will share responsibility for developing and validating software to enhance Fugro’s proprietary autonomous and semi-autonomous survey systems. This includes coding, test automation, debugging, profiling, troubleshooting, and documentation. This is an office and home-based position with no expected travel required.

Job Requirements
2-3 years of College courses
Experience working with image and numerical data
Strong oral communication
Effective ability to organize and prioritize tasks
Capability of working in groups and independently; learning new technologies
Object-oriented software development experience preferred
Experience with C++, C#, and/or Python programming language preferred
Essential Qualifications
Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
Effective verbal and written communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others to achieve desired results.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Present information and ideas, and respond to questions in a clear and concise manner.
Stay abreast of current professional practices, periodicals, and technological advancements.
Maintain meaningful involvement in professional and/or technical organizations.
Advanced knowledge of technology including standard office and engineering software and equipment.
Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.
Physical Qualifications
Perform moderate work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Daily activities include both field and office environments.
Some travel may be required including possible long-term out-of-town assignments.
Possible international travel/assignments may be required.
Knowledge/Skill
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent.
0-3 years’ experience preferred
Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
