Job Description
The role of the Senior Surveyor involves management of personnel and resources during offshore survey operations, in addition to active participation during equipment mobilization, calibrations, data acquisition and demobilization. Onshore survey operations and office duties will also be required.
Responsible for all surveyor-related aspects of the project, including the supervision/training of more junior team members.
Complies with appropriate Company QHSSE procedures at all times.
Responsible for planning and executing positioning and navigation tasks and data acquisition on, and/or leading, projects of medium to high complexity.
The Senior Surveyor have ultimate responsibility for: the correct offsets, measurements and calibrations of positioning equipment; the set-up and/or operation of survey equipment; carrying out computations and the compilation of survey reports; and the appropriate QC of data, computations and reports.
Education
B.Sc. level in Engineering (Survey / Civil) or equivalent
Work Experience
3-8 Years
Other Skills
undertaking risk assessments and implementing corrective actions and non-conformance procedures
Full understanding of data acquisition QC and equipment calibration requirements
Planning, installation, configuration and calibration of surface and sub - surface positioning systems, including the rigging and deployment /recovery of acoustic transponders.
Familiarity with fault - finding techniques for survey equipment and reporting.
