Senior Metocean Engineer
We have a new and exciting position in our expanding Metocean team! We are looking for someone to support our Saudi metocean operations including on/off site support as well as leading operational and technical activities in Saudi Arabia on the West and East coast. The work will be to ensure we meet operational and technical requirements as well as commitments for respective projects. Some daily, servicing and operational reporting would be required to support the role. The Senior Metocean Survey Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe manner by him / herself and by those colleagues around.

Job responsibilities:
Promote culture of safety and quality awareness amongst fellow staff members and take an active role in QHSE.
Strong knowledge of metocean equipment including tidal monitoring networks.
Ensure work undertaken is in compliance with Project Execution Plan.
Undertake workshop, office and site work in accordance with project requirements defined by Project Managers and / or Line Manager.
Monitor equipment performance and feedback to Project Managers / Line Manager as required.
Suggest improvements to technical procedures where applicable.
Liaise with Clients when on site to keep them appraised of the status of the work.
Liaise with sub-contractors / suppliers as required.
Arranging of repair and servicing of equipment’s.
Produce Daily, Service, Instrument and/or Operational reports as required or support lead engineer in producing.
Providing support to on-site field staff colleagues working as a team.
Travel to site as required to fulfil work duties.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism in accordance with Fugro’s standard of conduct.
Party Chief for large projects
Demonstrate leadership role on vessel in all HSE matters.
Manage project team with appropriate expertise.
Plan and manage work schedule of project team.
Purchase third-party services.
Ensure record keeping is fully complied with.
Develop relationship with client and respond to client queries. Attend client meetings.
Provide onshore technical input to offshore project planning and equipment design.
Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.
Provide colleagues with technical expertise, plan and discuss project work commitments with operations and project managers Inform Line Manager of workload and discuss any problems with time management.
Provide on-the-job training to project Oceanographers Engineers and Project Metocean Engineers
You bring (qualifications & experience)
Must have 8 years working experience, with a minimum of 5 years related engineering experience.
Must have valid offshore medical and survival certificate.
Preferable to have graduated with a Diploma or Degree in Oceanographic and/or Engineering.
Preferable to have had 3-5 years previous experience working with marine survey or oceanographic measuring equipment.
Preferable to have had 3-5 years previous experience working on offshore oil and gas facilities and vessels.
Strong understanding of computer systems, software and networks
An enthusiasm to develop the science of meteorology and oceanography and to explore new techniques and methods to increase the accuracy and reliability of marine measurements.
