The Fugro Offshore Survey Division activities require extensive technological support in order
to deliver the services that the offshore industry requires. There is a continuous need for the
implementation and utilisation of new methods, sensors, positioning techniques, data acquisition,
processing and visualisation systems that emerge from ever growing industry demands. To support this,
Fugro has a strong technical development resource that develops the software and hardware
that are specific to offshore survey operations.
Fugro's development activities are conducted in three major development centres in Europe, the USA
and Australia. This resource includes a total staff of 42 people who develop and maintain the
software and hardware systems that are needed for Fugro's survey activities offshore. These systems
are formally consolidated, tested and released on a regular basis to ensure that field operations
can rely on the latest available technology at all times.
A team in Europe develops and supports the hardware that is required to implement specialist navigation
hardware solutions and produce for example the High Precision satellite user equipment
(Starfix HP) and dedicated systems to support seismic operations (Protrack)
A selection of the various systems can be found below.
