Starfix Real Time Suite
|
To guide and support all offshore survey activities Fugro provides a comprehensive suite of
navigation software that provides the guidance displays, data storage and sensor interfacing
that are needed for Fugro's survey activities. The software is known as the Starfix Real time Suite.
The suite is built upon a modular design that allows a consistent approach to common survey
tasks whilst at the same time allows for extension and customisation of the suite.
The following are some of the main modules in the Real Time Suite than can be used
to support the various survey services:

- Starfix.Nav and Starfix.Seis These are the two navigation software systems that Fugro maintains and that perform the geodetic computations and that provide helmsman guidance, sensor configuration, field planning etc. and that is in general the hart of any survey system.
- StarfixIOWIN for interfacing to survey devices, for example positioning systems, attitude sensors, echo sounding and geophysical equipment
- Starfix.Wombat and Starfix.Drone provide the displays, configuration and telemetry system that are used for tug management and anchoring operations
- Starfix.USBL and Starfix.Acoustics are the modules used for USBL and LBL operations and calibration
- Starfix.ProjGen for project preparation of Waypoints, Line Files, Vector and Raster images.
- Starfix.Tides for prediction of tidal values
- Starfix.MSS for the determination of tidal values by using the height derived from Fugro's High Precision DGPS
(Starfix.HP) systems
Many applications pass information using a propriety messaging system that transparently
uses local area networks (LANs), Radio Telemetry and even the Internet.
