The Starfix Processing Suite is a series of applications for processing marine survey data sets. Starfix.Proc is a flexible, modular earth science processing and mapping system, which can easily be customised to meet both common and specific data processing requirements.

A high degree of process automation provides a controlled and consistent processing environment. In the case of marine surveying, an integrated processing environment permits positioning, single beam, multibeam, sonar intensity, acoustic backscatter, laser, magnetometer, and ROV data sets to be processed seamlessly using a common toolkit of mathematical functions.

Starfix.Workbench resides within the Processing Suite and is an application framework which is used to host tasks which marine surveyors need to perform. It provides a consistent user interface for many commonly required activities such as cleaning of multibeam and single beam data, griding to form Digital Terrain Models and side scan sonar mosaicing.

The Starfix.Proc environment utilises a wide range of mathematical functions including despiking, filtering, smoothing, tagging internal/external interpolation, and merging tools are readily available to the user. These can be accessed via script files, using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), for repetitive batch processing (VBAproc), or from a fully graphic interface to the data (Mproc). The Processing suite provides realtime and near realtime (end of line) processing which permits offshore processing, data analysis for informed decision making.
