Photogrammetric Mapping
Fugro provides start-to-finish services for the creation of customized, high resolution mapping products from airborne imagery.
Over 20 aircraft are stationed across the globe, equipped with advanced navigation and camera systems for collection of both
film- and digital-based data. In-house production facilities include precision film scanners, state-of-the-art image processing
software, and softcopy photogrammetric workstations.
Products and Services
- Orthophotos. Orthophotos from film-based or digital aerial imagery are available at scales typically ranging from 1:500 with a 7 cm pixel resolution to 1:24,000 with a 2 m pixel resolution. Products can be delivered in panchromatic (black-and-white), natural color, and color-infrared; orthoimages produced from digital imaging sensors acquire all spectral renditions from a single flight.
- Elevation models. These include digital terrain models (DTMs) produce by stereocompilation of breaklines and mass points or digital elevation models (DEMs) produced by auto-correlation of stereo imagery. DTM and DEM data are available at 1 m and larger spacings in vector, raster, or TIN mode.
- Planimetric data. Planimetric data features including building footprints, roads, sidewalks, trees, utility poles, manhole covers, fire hydrants, and impervious surfaces, can be collected in both 3D (by stereocompilation) or 2D (by “heads-up” digitizing) environments. Planimetric mapping is typically produced at scales ranging from 1:500 to 1:24,000.
- Topographic data. Topographic contours are produced at scales ranging from 1:60 with a 30 cm contour interval to 1:24,000 with a 3 m or higher contour interval.
- Thematic maps. Thematic data layers such as land-use and land-cover, impervious surfaces, soils, tree species, fire fuels, and benthic habitats can be developed from new or existing airborne imagery, using either manual photointerpretation or automated classification methods.
