Providing a full range of GIS services, Fugro works with customers to turn spatial data into knowledge. Offerings include strategic planning, design and implementation of enterprise systems, customized application development, 3D data integration and spatial analyses, database migration, and on-site support and staff augmentation. Our GIS staff have extensive programming and database skills and are experienced working with a broad range of CAD and GIS systems, including the full range of ESRI products, Bentley MicroStation, AutoDesk AutoCAD, Intergraph GeoMedia and G/Technology, and Visual Studio.

Products and Services

Strategic Planning. Acting as a catalyst among the broad base of potential users, Fugro helps customers in the public sector build efficient and sustainable GIS programs. Stakeholder input and commitment is obtained through various user group meetings and stakeholder outreach. These forums facilitate important exchanges about current and planned datasets; data sharing opportunities; software and accuracy standards; and education and training needs. From this foundation, Fugro works with the customer to create a strategic plan that clearly defines the criteria, characteristics, and activities required for an effective, flexible, and lasting GIS.
Enterprise GIS. In an enterprise GIS environment, all users work from a single geodatabase for shared access to the most current and accurate information available. These systems yield high efficiency returns for organizations comprising multiple user groups, datasets, and applications. From performing a needs analysis, to developing source data specifications, designing and implementing an efficient IT structure, and creating customized applications, Fugro helps customers meet their collective needs for accessing, manipulating, and distributing geospatial data across the enterprise.
Application Development. Fugro provides customized GIS application development to support individual user group needs for efficient analysis, visualization, and reporting of geospatial data. Our skilled GIS programmers and analysts maintain expertise in all the major GIS and CAD systems and software. With customized applications, users can perform complex data calculations from multiple and diverse datasets; automate task management for a wide range of user groups; and achieve efficient updates across the enterprise.
3D Data Integration and Spatial Analyses. Fugro’s SIMmetry system is a web-enabled client/server software platform that enables users with little to no GIS training to manipulate, visualize, and understand complex 3D datasets for better decision making. The system typically comprises detailed, object-specific 3D models of buildings, infrastructure, and terrain; software applications including a modular suite of online tools for querying, visualizing, and analyzing the 3D models; custom middleware that join the 3D models with proprietary customer data, legacy systems, and third-party applications or real-time data.
Database migration. Fugro provides data migration services to help customers achieve accurate and efficient data transfer from old to new databases, software versions, or GIS platforms.
On-site support and staff augmentation. Fugro’s GIS staff are available for permanent or temporary on-site support assignments to augment in-house GIS capabilities. Several of our offices maintain ESRI reseller, consultant, developer, and/or authorized trainer status. As such, we are able to deply the full suite of ArcGIS products in a configuration appropriate for each customer’s GIS needs.
