3D Modeling & Visualization
Fugro’s 3D modeling and visualization services effectively transform traditional
“flat map” views of an area into realistic representations of the natural and manmade
features comprising that space. Offering a range of highly-detailed 3D modeling and
visualization capabilities, Fugro supports public- and private-sector activities related
to urban planning, architecture, and engineering.
Products and Services
- 3D city models. Off-the-shelf 3D city models are available for major urban centers of the USA. Incorporating all of the important massing details of a city's buildings, the models also provide topographically accurate ground features. Models are available in a wide range of CAD formats.
- 3D thematic maps. As an alternative to traditional 2D graphics, customized 3D thematic maps are created from source model data to help users convey the magnitude and scale of a scenario event. These products are useful in presentations, advertisements, news articles, and other applications.
- 3D visualization. Fugro uses high resolution geospatial data and 3D visualization and analysis applications to create customized 3D decision support tools for a variety of needs, including for viewshed analyses and corridor studies for infrastructure projects, or for management of ports, military installations, and campuses.
- 3D fly-through movies. From detailed and accurate 3D geospatial data, Fugro generates realistic fly-throughs of a specific site to help audiences better understand the overall scene with regard to the project being presented. Incorporating real-time 3D visualization software, fly-through tools also enable users to navigate multiple vantage points for quick perspectives of the project area.
