Fugro To Showcase Structural Integrity Services At Aberdeen Sim Conference

Fugro will showcase its specialist technology and services at the annual Structural Integrity Management (SIM) Conference in Aberdeen from 6-7 November 2014.

Aberdeen, UK
13 Oct 2014

The event will provide a unique opportunity to address the critical challenges, strategies and opportunities associated with maximising the integrity of all offshore structures, including wellheads, FPSOs, mooring lines and fixed jackets.

Fugro’s technical experts will be on hand at the exhibition stand to discuss the company’s extensive range of services and solutions, all of which contribute cost benefit in an active SIM process. Examples include:

  • On line monitoring – identification of a change in the natural frequencies exhibited by a jacket to detect damage by measuring the acceleration response of a platform-to-wave motion
  • FPSO excursion monitoring system – combining state-of-the-art measurement hardware, easy-to-operate software and six degrees’ freedom of motion to provide early detection of mooring integrity issues
  • Wellhead fatigue monitoring - measurement of wellhead motion to quantify fatigue damage and provide real response data for feedback into the riser model
  • Modular integrated monitoring systems – providing accurate data (metocean, structural response and position) in real-time to support operations and for design verification
  • Pile grout monitoring - detecting the deterioration of the pile/grout interface on lightweight structures
  • Relative motion monitoring – measurement of environmental and structural parameters to minimise drilling down time during cantilever drilling operations
  • Quantifying environmental conditions - past, present and future

Now in its third year, the SIM Conference is expected to attract more than 200 structural engineers, operations managers, integrity experts and other specialists from around the globe.
