Fugro Geos Strengthens Its Structural Monitoring Presence In Southeast Asia

In a move that optimises its metocean capabilities in Southeast Asia, Fugro GEOS is extending its support for riser and structural monitoring projects with the appointment of Syahrom Shah as structural monitoring co-ordinator. This step by the leading metocean specialist will further develop its range of regional services, enhancing support for offshore and coastal engineering projects.

“With increased demand for structural monitoring services in Southeast Asia this appointment will strengthen our support services,” explains Mark Wimshurst, Fugro GEOS Regional Director. “It will enable us to provide more effective client response and demonstrates our commitment to the local market.”

Syahrom Shah, who has a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Ship and Offshore Structures degree, will be based in the Kuala Lumpur office.

Fugro GEOS offers services which allow clients to maximise the use of valuable assets, minimising downtime and documenting fatigue usage to achieve cost reductions and safety improvements. Services include the measurement and monitoring of wellhead and riser fatigue, and platform and vessel motions.
