Among the top 15 UK universities for computer science and informatics research, Plymouth University holds the annual careers fair to bring employers in the science, technology and engineering sectors together with up to 2,000 students from a range of relevant faculties.

As the world's foremost provider of commercial meteorological and oceanographic services, Fugro GEOS undertakes measurement, monitoring and forecasting of metocean parameters, calling upon the skills of its experienced oceanographers, meteorologists and marine environmental scientists and specialist engineers.  Through a range of education and placement programmes the company encourages undergraduates in this sector and actively contributes to the sustainability of the marine science community.

Commenting on the latest steps by Fugro GEOS to promote marine science, underwater technology and marine engineering education, Alastair Stagg, Regional Manager of the company’s metocean measurements group said, “Participating in the Science, Technology and Engineering Careers Fair at Plymouth University not only highlights future career prospects to undergraduates in this sector but will also help to attract students into oceanography and meteorology.”

Other Fugro companies will join Fugro GEOS at the careers fair, which includes presentations, mock interviews, workshops, CV advice and one-to-one sessions.  It takes place from 11.00am on Wednesday, 21st November in the Roland Levinsky Building at Plymouth University; more information can be found online on the Plymouth University website
