His responsibility includes all of its metocean (meteorological and oceanographic) measurement operations in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India as well as management of the world’s largest pool of commercially available oceanographic equipment.

Having begun his career as an oceanographer in 1989, Alastair worked for Emu Limited and Titan Surveys, joining Fugro GEOS in 1998 where he held the post of Operations Manager in the UK office for 10 years. Specialising in physical oceanography and marine environmental assessment, his professional experience covers most aspects of practical marine measurements and he brings valuable operational knowledge to the position.

In the new role of Commercial Manager at Wallingford, Richard Davies is responsible for co-ordinating the sales teams involved in the growing number of multi-disciplinary opportunities within Fugro GEOS. As well as providing commercial support across all UK business lines – measurement, offshore systems, consultancy, forecasting and structural monitoring – he will be working closely with the commercial teams at Fugro GEOS offices worldwide.

Over the past 30 years Richard has gained extensive commercial marine experience, which includes specialist knowledge of the West African market. With a focus on developing Fugro GEOS’ presence in the European renewables industry, he will engage the technical disciplines of the Fugro Group to provide innovative and cost-effective client solutions.

In Houston Ben Williams, appointed as Operations Manager, is now responsible for all Houston-based measurement and offshore systems operations. Having joined Fugro GEOS in 2005 as a field technician, he later became an offshore engineer, spending up to 300 days a year offshore. Transferring temporarily to Wallingford in 2008, Ben managed a variety of projects as a Senior Oceanographer and his duties also included worldwide technical support.

In 2009 he returned to the Houston office to manage rig, mooring and systems operations. Ben continues to undertake selected project management and assists with worldwide technical support across the Fugro GEOS companies.

The new Divisional Manager for Metocean Measurements in the Fugro GEOS Singapore office is Kit Moss, who is responsible for developing commercial measurement opportunities throughout Southeast Asia and overseeing operations in the region.

Kit began his career in 1996, starting as a field surveyor with Racal. He has developed extensive experience of the global offshore industry, which includes detailed knowledge of the Middle East market. Prior to this new appointment, he spent nine years supporting Arabian Gulf work at a commercial and operational level for a range of clients across a variety of industry sectors.
