I work at Fugro Survey AS as a Geologist for site surveys, mainly engaged in seismic interpretation and reporting, with the purpose of detecting and evaluating geohazards that can affect offshore drilling operations.
Previously I worked as an offshore geologist onboard M/V Fugro Meridian, overseeing and quality controlling the acquisition of 2DHR seismic and analogue data for site and route surveys over the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Fugro has given me the opportunity to participate in and experience the complete workflow of site investigations – from data acquisition offshore to creation of the final product, all while providing regular training and a structured career.

Site surveys are a security requirement for any offshore drilling operation. The geologist’s responsibility is to assess geophysical and geotechnical datasets over the surveyed area, describe relevant seabed and sub-seabed conditions and highlight essential hazards to the client in order to prevent unexpected surprises when operating on the seabed.
