We aim to be good corporate citizens by contributing directly or indirectly to the general well-being of the communities within which we work.
Where and when appropriate, we get involved in the local community, support charitable and cultural events and support trade and academic bodies which aim to improve the effectiveness of the industries in which we operate.
Supporting social initiatives
Most of the projects we support are initiated by local operating companies, and range from voluntary work (such as participation in International coastal cleanup in the USA or an annual tree planting event in Australia) to sponsorship (participation in charity sports events, making use of one of our aircrafts for a search and rescue mission, internships for students) as well as donations to local hospitals and other charities
We seek to preserve and promote accessibility to valuable local heritage and support many different initiatives around the world, particularly in the area of arts and culture. Sponsoring the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and providing financial support to the Hermitage art foundation are just a couple of ways in which we have promoted positive change.
We also support various local and larger-scale sports events. We’re proud to sponsor the MS150, a cycle tour from Houston to Austin organised by the American Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as the Western Australian rugby team Western Force and an annual cycling event in Jakarta, Indonesia.
We actively co-operate with universities, research initiatives and standardisation institutes to find innovative solutions that encourage best practices and provide opportunities for our staff to grow. We are involved in many aspects of the energy supply chain and we support and develop standards and methods that are both efficient and good for the environment and people. We participate in various organisations that are actively seeking to improve guidelines, standards, agreements and cooperative ventures in the industries in which we work.
